Lone Pine is known as the small town with lots of charm. Our small town offers a variety of activities from checking out sites where old western films and some of today's biggest hollywood blockbuster films were made; to hiking one of highest mountains in the United States.
Mt. Whitney is the highest summit in the contiguous United States with an elevation of 14,505 feet. Whitney Portal is the base camp and where the trail starts for the 22 mile roundtrip hike to Mt. Whitney. Whiney Portal is located just 13 miles west of Lone Pine.
